My Bio

My PhotoI’m 28 years old. I’ve had ME / CFS since I was 12 years old.

I’m currently studying with the OU. I’m working towards a BSc in Computing and IT as well as a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics. I hope to start working towards a BSc in Psychology within the next year or two. Given a rate of 2 courses a year I should be finishing up the Computing and Maths degrees within 4 years and a further 4 years for the Psych degree.

I plan to be studying the rest of my life if I can. There is nothing better than the satisfaction of getting a new idea.

Books I like

I have put up a complete list of all the authors on my bookshelves and Kindle, by genre, on the My Documents page.

My Top 10 authors / series in Rank Order

If all these authors had books out on the same day this the order I would read them in :
1. Nalini Singh – Psy / Changeling series
2. C.J. Cherryh – Foreigner Series
3. Terry Pratchett – Discworld series
4. Lois McMaster Bujold – Beguilement / Miles Vorkosigan series
5. Anne Bishop – The Black Jewels / Pillars of the World / Ephemera series
6. Sharon Shinn – The Twelve Houses
7. L.E. Modesitt – Imager / Sage of Recluce series
8. Elizabeth Vaughan – Chronicles of the Warlands series
9. Katherine Kerr – Deverry series
10. Orson Scott Card – Ender Series

Surprisingly they are actually all living authors. In general I prefer dead authors since their back-catalogue is available without having to wait for years for the next installment. I’m a rabid reader and love to read through an author’s complete back catalog one after the other.

  1. I so love your “about”! This is the best one I have seen.
I came to welcome you to my blog and thank you for choosing to follow along my own journey.
You have so much going on for you despite your MS. I applaud you so much and will be supportive of all that you do becausse I have a chronic illness too that creates chronic pain and fatigue. So I know the efforts it takes from you.

I look forard to becoming good blogging friends and can see that I will enjoy your blog just from your “about:.
    Blessings ~ BB

  2. I am erm…so sleeply I was Googling “erm” as a source of proctrastination. To further my progress I decided to write a comment.

Your bio is just… on another level.

  3. Hi Marion,
I had ME for 11 years and found a regime that cured it for me. I have been ME free for over 7 years now and counting. The details of the changes I made are on this page:
    http://web.archive.org/web/20101215000604/http://drcranton.com/CFIDS.htm
Basically I cut all sugar out of my diet and took anti-fungal drugs (containing Fluconazole), I called it the nuts and drugs system! 🙂 My GP told me it would do nothing to help but it seems he was very wrong. I have no idea if it would work for you but it might be worth a try.
I found your blog as I am finishing my OU courses this year – good luck with your exams!
